My Crayola Movie Competition Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern your relationship with Vivid Imaginations Limited (Promoter), Aardman Animations Limited (Aardman) and Odeon Cinemas Limited (ODEON) (and their licensees, affiliates and assigns).

What Do I Need To Do?

  • To enter the competition you will need to create a hand drawn animated film, no longer than 1 minute in length including credits.
  • You will need to register at www.mycrayolamovie.com and submit your entry before the 10 September 2014 to take part.
  • The Competition is only open to residents of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland who are aged 16 years old and under at the time of registration for the competition.
  • Participants must ask the permission of a parent or guardian before entering the competition and the Promoter may place restrictions on your entry where necessary or appropriate.
  • The competition is not open to employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, Aardman or ODEON, their group of companies and any of their subsidiaries and/or agencies.
  • The competition opens on 5 April 2014 and closes at midnight on 10 September 2014. All entries received after this time and date will not be accepted.

  • 1. Competition Details
  • 1.1 – By entering this competition you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.
  • 1.2 – This competition will be hosted on www.mycrayolamovie.com.
  • 1.3 – You will need to upload your film to YouTube, Vimeo or any other video sharing website and enter your name, email address and a link to your film in the entry form. In addition, the winner will need to provide Aardman with the original film file in the best quality format possible, to allow Aardman to prepare the file for screening.
  • 1.4 – You may submit only one film for this competition.
  • 1.5 – There is no charge to enter this competition. Your standard telephone, internet, network and data charges may apply to enter this competition and you must have the bill payer’s permission prior to entering.
  • 1.6 – All animations submitted must be new and original, previously unpublished and must be entirely your own work. The animations must not infringe the copyright or other rights of any third party and they must not be obscene or defamatory.
  • 1.7 – By entering the competition, you hereby grant to the Promoter, ODEON and Aardman a non -exclusive worldwide, royalty free, perpetual and irrevocable licence to use, edit, copy, transmit, display, exploit, manipulate, distribute, reproduce, make, sell or offer to sell; exercise all copyright, trademark, publicity and other proprietary rights (and to sub-licence such rights) to your film and any information you provided or any part of the information, in any and all media (by any and all means now known or developed in the future), including without limitation, use on commercial audio or video products and all forms of advertising and merchandise.
  • 2. Prize details
  • 2.1 – One first prize winner will win their own private screening for the winning film for themselves and 20 family members and friends to attend at their local ODEON cinema at 9am on either a Saturday or Sunday in October 2014. The winning film will also be screened at selected ODEON Kids performances across the UK and ROI between the 11 October and 2 November 2014. The overall winner will also win an ODEON family cinema ticket (based on a family of 2 adults and 2 children), a bumper pack of Crayola Goodies, with an minimum RRP value of £200 and a family ticket for 4 to the Animate It! exhibition at At-Bristol.
  • 2.2 – The winner’s local ODEON cinema for the purposes of this promotion means the nearest participating ODEON cinema to their home address (apart from the following ODEON cinemas: Birmingham New Street, BFI IMAX, Bournemouth ABC, Camden, Covent Garden, Dumfries, Edinburgh Lothian Road, Kensington, Leicester Square, Marble Arch, Panton Street, Putney, Sheffield, Oxford Magdalen Street, ODEON Studios (Leicester Square), Tottenham Court Road, West End, Whiteleys (The Lounge) Dumfries, Hereford, Banbury, Canterbury and Gerrards Cross which will not be showing the film and instead an alternative ODEON cinema near the winner’s home will be chosen to host the private screening).
  • 2.3 – Four runners up will each win a free code to download the Animate It! software, a Crayola goodies parcel with an minimum RRP value of £100 and a family ticket for 4 to ODEON Cinemas (based on a family of 2 adults and 2 children).
  • 2.4 – The winners will receive their prizes by the 10 November 2014, or within 28 days of confirming their acceptance of their prizes, with the exception of the private screening for the overall winner which will take place at 9am on a Saturday or Sunday in October 2014. The date will be confirmed with the prize winner’s parent or guardian on their acceptance of the prize.
  • 2.5 – The winners are solely responsible for all additional costs and expenses associated with claiming the prize, including travel expenses.
  • 2.6 – In the event that the Promoter cannot for any reason contact a winner within 7 days or a runner-up within 28 days, of the Competition closing date and obtain parental permission, a new winner will be selected.
  • 2.7 – The prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
  • 2.8 – The Promoter shall not be responsible for email notification(s) that do not reach you for reasons beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any costs or losses incurred directly or indirectly by you as a result of incorrect use of connected internet sites including but not limited to YouTube, VEVO and flickr, an incorrect email address or address or name given by you.
  • 3. Winner selection
  • 3.1 – The winners shall be selected by a group of judges consisting of one member of the Promotions and Partnerships Team at ODEON, the Crayola UK Senior Brand Manager at Vivid Toy Group Ltd, a Creative Director from Aardman and at least one independent person by the 29th of September 2014. The criteria for judging are; most creative and unique entry, age will be taken into account.
  • 3.2 – The winners shall be notified by email by the 30 September 2014.
  • 3.3 – The judges’ decision is final in relation to the selection of winners and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • 4. General Terms
  • 4.1 – The Promoter reserves the right to check your eligibility to enter the competition. The Promoter may ask you to confirm or provide proof of identity, age, telephone number and address.
  • 4.2 – Entries not complying with these terms and conditions or which provide insufficient information on the online entry form will not be accepted by the Promoter.
  • 4.3 – The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are not received for any reason.
  • 4.4 – The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries lost, damaged or delayed, or for any difficulty experienced in accessing or submitting a film.
  • 4.5 – Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the liability of the Promoter for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of its negligence.
  • 4.6 – The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize.
  • 4.7 – The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to verify the winner and refuse to award the prize or withdraw prize entitlement where there is, or the Promoter has reason to believe there is, or has been, a breach of these terms and conditions or abuse of the promotion in any way.
  • 4.8 – The Promoter reserves the right to hold, void, cancel, suspend, or amend the competition or terms and conditions where it becomes necessary to do so.
  • 4.9 – The Promoter’s decision on any aspect of the competition is final and binding.
  • 4.10 – A list of the winner and runners up (names and counties) will be posted on www.mycrayolamovie.com after 1st October 2014.
  • 5. Privacy and Data Collection
  • 5.1 – Aardman will be the data processor on behalf of the Promoter of any personal data collected from you as part of entering the competition.
  • 5.2 – By entering this competition, you consent to your details being added to a database of entries held by the Promoter for this competition and used in accordance with Aardman’s published privacy policy, which you should read in advance at www.mycrayolamovie.com as the Promoter may email entrants about the Promotion at the end of the Promotion.
  • 5.3 – By entering the competition, you agree to participate in such promotional activities (which may include photography, filming or interviews) and feature in such promotional material as the Promoter, Aardman and/or ODEON may reasonably require, unless you otherwise notify the Promoter in writing at the time you submit your film – such written notification can be sent to the Crayola UK Senior Brand Manager, Vivid Imagination, Ashbourne House, The Guildway, Guildford GU3 1LS, United Kingdom. All winners names and counties will be required for the winners list, without exception.
  • 5.4 – Unless you tell us otherwise, your details will not be shared with selected third parties for marketing purposes.
